Arena Group a winner at Fight Camp

Arena Group has supported Matchroom Boxing in bringing top-tier boxing back, with the supply of temporary event infrastructure for the revolutionary Fight Camp boxing event.

Situated in the Gardens of Matchroom HQ in Brentwood, Essex, the Fight Camp event is the first boxing series of its kind in the UK since the Covid-19 pandemic began.

Matchroom’s Fight Camp series will play host to 18 fights, including five world title clashes over four weeks of live action.

Launched on the 1 August with the epic 12 round, IBF International Super-Welterweight victory for Ted Cheeseman over Sam Eggington, and now heading into its third weekend, the series will conclude on the 22 August, with the highly anticipated defence bout between Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin as they contest for the WBC Interim World Heavyweight Championship title.

While 2020 continues to be a difficult year for the global events sector, Arena continues to support the delivery of temporary event infrastructure and project management while the UK’s industry begins to ramp up.

Arena supplied a diverse range of services for the series including full site production and HSE management, changing rooms with bathrooms and air conditioning, security cabins, sanitisation stations, welfare cabins and marquees, and temporary pad and canopy for the ring, in addition to flat spectator seats and ancillary services inclusive of toilets, generators, trakway and floodlighting.

Martin Clark, project director for Arena EMEA’s Seating Division said:

We’re really pleased that we’ve been able to continue our partnership with Matchroom Boxing with project management for this landmark series of fights as our industry begins to cautiously re-start – the project has been a huge success so far and I can’t help but feel optimistic that this is a sign of great things to come.

Frank Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Matchroom Boxing Global, said:

As always, it’s been a true pleasure to work with Martin and the Arena team. During these testing times we are delighted to be putting on an event of this magnitude and Arena have been a huge part of making the event the success it is!
