Major League Baseball team, the Atlanta Braves, are planning to build a new spring training camp in North Port, Sarasota, Florida.
Officials from the Braves recently gave a presentation to Sarasota County commissioners detailing how the complex would look.
The 9,000 seat facility is slated to open in 2019 and would have 6,500 seats with room for a further 2,500 on benches or standing.
The venue would include a number of suites, along with six full and two half practice fields, a player academy, training spaces and clubhouses.
The complex is estimated to cost around $80 million to build.
County Administrator Tom Harmer said the team would have a 30-year lease. Harmer said the county will contribute $22.1 million from hotel and motel tax revenues, and provide annual support of stadium maintenance.
The county will assume ownership of the complex once construction is completed.
