Buckingham to build Fulham’s Riverside Stand

Fulham Football Club has appointed Buckingham Group as lead contractor for the Riverside Stand redevelopment at Craven Cottage.

Works on the new Riverside Stand are scheduled to start in May 2019 and will take an estimated two years to complete, ready for the start of the 2021/22 season.

Buckingham Group will work closely with architects Populous on the new stand, which will feature a new river wall and creation of a new public riverside walk.

The club is currently working on transition plans and will be consulting with the Fulham Supporters’ Trust in regards to relocating supporters currently situated in the existing Riverside Stand with details to be announced in due course.

Consultations with supporters and local residents were held in October 2017 at two exhibitions at Craven Cottage prior to plans being submitted in December 2017.

The Club’s previous Riverside Stand design received planning permission in 2013 and the enhanced scheme also incorporates the opening of the riverside walk from Putney to Hammersmith, an aspect of the approved design and a major benefit to the local area, in addition to improved facilities for users on both match and non-match days.
