Cagliari picks Costim for new stadium work

Italian Serie A club Cagliari Calcio has picked Costim Group as the primary contractor for its planned new stadium.

It will support the Club as an industrial partner and constructor in the next stages of the path towards the building of the new stadium.

The Sardinian club had the initial Guide Plan to reconstruct the Stadio Sant’Elia approved in November 2019.

Costim will now work closely with Cagliari Calcio and Sportium to complete the project which will see a 25,000-seat stadium created.

Cagliari Calcio is confident that the works can be started in 2022 and completed in the following 24 months.

The club said the involvement of Costim – an integrated and digitalised industrial player, specialised in the realisation of big “turnkey” real estate projects, represents a key step in the broader development of the project, both from a strategic and operational point of view.

The club has also been working with the Instituto per il Credito Sportivo on the financing model for the project.
