Chelsea automates pitch covering

Chelsea Football Club has ordered two Matchsaver systems to protect its two first team practice pitches at its Cobham training ground. The first Matchsaver Automated Pitch Protection System (APP) will be installed in July 2013.

The training pitches are both replicas of Stamford Bridge. Matchsaver APP is remotely controlled and the electrically driven rollers can cover the pitch is less than 45 minutes.

Jason Griffin, Head Groundsman, Chelsea Football Club said:

We need to cover the pitch quickly and smoothly to control the effects of adverse weather and Matchsaver does the job to meet our world-class standards
