Circuit of Wales holding meet the buyer event 5 December

Business Wales is hosting an open morning with representatives from FCC and Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd in order to provide information about supply chain opportunities as part of the £280 million Circuit of Wales racetrack development in Ebbw Vale. Prospective suppliers should book to attend at 9.00am on 5 December at Ebbw Vale Rugby Club, Eugene Cross Park, Ebbw Vale.

Following its successful outline planning application, the Circuit of Wales, led by the Heads of the Valleys Development Company, reached an agreement in October with Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council on the Section 106 aspect of the planning application. Section 106 refers to the planning obligations put in place in order to deliver the project. Enabling works start this year, with full construction start in 2014.

A Low Carbon Automotive Centre of Excellence, Circuit of Wales represents the UK’s largest ever privately led capital investment programme in motor sport related infrastructure. It is estimated that some 750,000 people will visit the completed facility each year and it is expected to generate £50m per annum for the Welsh economy. An anticipated 3,000 new jobs will be created during the construction phase, with approximately 6,000 new jobs once the development is complete.
