International design practice HASSELL has recently appointed Clive Lewis as Principal to be based in the London studio.
Lewis has more than 20 years’ experience across large scale architecture, working in the UK, Europe and Asia.
Global Sports and Entertainment sector leader, Glenn Scott, said:
Clive’s appointment complements our existing global team of sports design specialists who are currently working on complex and high profile projects including the transformation of Darling Harbour in Sydney, Australia and Perth Stadium in Western Australia.
In addition to his world class sports architecture credentials, Lewis has a wider portfolio in education, leisure, commercial and workplace, retail and residential architecture.
Most recently he has led a number of large stadium projects in Europe and Asia, for AECOM. Prior to this, Lewis was lead sports architect at Arup Sport working on the main Beijing National Stadium (in conjunction with Herzog and De Meuron), as architectural design lead on the Singapore Sports Hub, including the Singapore National Stadium, OCBC Aquatics and OCBC Arena, the Tokyo Olympic Stadium (working alongside Zaha Hadid Architects), Abu Dhabi National Stadium, and concept design architect on the Shaktar Donbass Arena.
As a multidisciplinary practice working across multiple sectors, HASSELL is a natural fit for me and is aligned with the way I work as part of a team, always looking for the best possible outcome for the end user.
I look forward to joining the international team at HASSELL and contributing to the outstanding projects not only in the UK and Europe, but across the globe.
