Copper Box floor damage causes event cancellation

The arena floor of the Copper Box in Queen Elisabeth Park was rendered unplayable following the hosting of a fitness exhibition. Four games due to be staged at the venue were cancelled or switched. England’s netball team were forced to face Tri-Series opponents New Zealand at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre where there is no spectator capacity.

BBC Sport reported that England Netball were expected to pay out refunds totalling £50,000 to Copper Box Arena ticket-holders.
