Craven Cottage redevelopment underway

Fulham Football Club has been granted a river works licence to enable it to progress the development of its new Riverside Stand, designed by world-renowned architecture firm, KSS.

The Riverside Stand expansion is a flagship development for Fulham FC, which will see Craven Cottage’s capacity increase from its current 25,000-seats to 30,000. It will also improve the range and quality of the offering available to spectators, while maintaining the unique atmosphere of the ground.
The Stand’s new facilities will take advantage of the excellent river views, and the architectural solution is appropriate to the prominent river location, responding to the sensitive site context and minimizes encroachment into the Thames foreshore.
Fulham received planning consent for the development in July 2013, subject to the licence being obtained, and is now in a position to commence with a projected timetable for the development.

One of the key considerations of the Port of London Authority in granting the licence is the Club’s commitment to the opening up of the river walkway to enable it to be enjoyed by the local community and the general public for the first time in recent history. The new walkway will include a number of facilities such as a café, public toilets and a restaurant, which will be open to the public every day.
