I felt there was a huge knowledge void as most of this pertinent information is not publicly available or compiled in any usable fashion. I felt as one of the few professionals consistently handling this type of work at the highest level, I was compelled to act as a bridge to bring some most needed knowledge and structure to provide a little glimpse “behind the curtain” of what was really going on in the industry.
I had wished something like this existed when I started when was trying to understand the legal and business matters related to the field. I aimed to create a book that is intended for readers of all ages from high school to college students to industry practitioners, professional gamers and streamers, team owners, event operators, business professionals, attorneys, or really anybody else trying to get an understanding of the esports business. Unique to the book are actual contract clauses and negotiation tactics for major professional gamer, coach, caster and sponsorship agreements. The book also is able to provide information on best practices for organizing an esports event as well as for creating sponsorship and investor ‘pitch’ decks.
