Krakow Arena building up to host top tournaments

Krakow Arena, currently under construction, will be one of the host arenas when Poland stages the European Cup EHF in 2016. Poland will be hosting this scale of handball event for the first time and plans to use four venues: Ergo Arena (Gdansk), Spodek (Katowice), Atlas Arena (Lodz) and Krakow Arena (Czyzyny Hall) (Krakow).
 Optionally the Centennial Hall (Wroclaw) could also be used as a venue.

The five-storey, 5,000 sq. metre Krakow Arena, with seating for 15,000 spectators (18,000 retracted), will have facilities for hockey, figure skating, athletics, basketball, volleyball and handball. Poland’s biggest bank, PKO Bank Polska, leant the city of Krakow 300 million złoty to fund the facility.
