Lokomotiv Moscow settle into their tailor-made indoor football hall

Training in comfort whatever the weather, that was the ambition of top soccer team Lokomotiv Moscow, and thanks to their new indoor football hall, this is exactly what they now have.

Veldeman designed the bespoke indoor training facility in collaboration with their Russian distributor, Magnum Sports.

The hall measures a grand total of 60m by 100m and satisfies snow-bearing regulations of 180kg per square metre. Over a height of 3m, a double PVC canvas is fitted, which creates an insulating effect. Thanks to a modern heating and air conditioning system, the temperature can be maintained at a pleasant level and the facility can be used for play throughout the year.

Olga Smorodskaya, FC Lokomotiv President, commented:

The very name ‘Lokomotiv’ implies the will to lead, to be the first. We’ve been the champions of Russia several times, and won several Russian Cups. Now we’re pioneering again: this structure is the first of its kind in Russia.

Veldeman has already built more than 400 sports halls for many different purposes all around the world. Some of the company’s previous indoor training facilities have been created for clubs including: KRC Genk, Philadelphia Eagles and MK Dons. Veldeman has also recently built five multi-sports halls in Russia, in different parts of Siberia and Moscow.
