New Zealand Recreation Association (NZRA) and Sport New Zealand are partnering to develop a National Facilities Benchmarking Tool in response to requests from the industry for a high level assessment tool for facility performance measurement.
The tool will provide community sport and recreation facility owners and operators with key performance measures and benchmarks that ensure their communities have access to effective and efficiently operated facilities and services that are based on best practice.
NZRA is utilising the expertise of its existing partner, Xyst Limited, which currently delivers a more comprehensive facility benchmarking programme called Yardstick on a membership and annual fee basis.
The National Facilities Benchmarking Tool complements Yardstick’s more detailed performance measurement programme. The online tool will collect high level facility operational information annually. Results will enable participants to analyse and compare their performance against other similar facilities.
The National Facilities Benchmarking Tool will be accessible to all participating recreation facilities at no charge.
To use this free national benchmarking tool, please register your interest.
Note: At present, the tool has been set up for aquatic facilities and indoor sports courts. This may be extended to other types of facilities when the tool is reviewed next year. School indoor sports courts and swimming pools should only be included if they are also used by the community.
If you are a Yardstick Facilities member you don’t need to register as you will already be included in the indicators project.
