Regensburg set for new 15,000 capacity football stadium

The city of Regensburg has appointed BAM Sports, a subsidiary of BAM Deutschland, to build a new football stadium, following a tender process. BAM Sports will start the construction of the Arena Regensburg football stadium in January 2014. Regensburg is located in the middle of the southern German state of Bavaria.

The stadium, with space for more than 15,000 spectators, will be the home of SVV Jahn, which is currently in the third division. The stadium has been designed by architect Stefan Nixdorf of agn Niederberghaus & Partner GmbH and comprises four free-standing tribunes with a striking red facade.
