All around the world sports and play are important in peoples’ lives. Next to the health and lifestyle benefits, it unites people.
Schmitz Foam Products encourages communities to provide safe play for everyone. Their shock- and drainage pads, engineered under the ProPlay brand, are designed to protect. They are installed underneath synthetic turf pitches for shock absorption, fast drainage and fall protection.
Schmitz acknowledges the importance of safety and giving back to the community. Therefore, Schmitz contributed to some philanthropy projects this year.

Refurbished outdoor sports area for the Eisenach community in Germany
On November 23, the Mayor of Eisenach officially inaugurated the renovated and redesigned sports complex for the “Ludwig Erhard” medical school in Eisenach Nord – together with the pupils of the medical school and the neighboring state elementary school “Mosewaldschule”.
The small but highly modern sports facility is now available in the residential area of Eisenach Nord. It was urgently needed for school and leisure sports.
The sports facility will be accessible for school sports as well as recreational sports. On the one hand, this increases the possibilities for leisure activities in the residential area, on the other hand it also enables additional activities for the integration of refugees.
Schmitz Foam Products strongly believes in the idea of solidarity for integration, because sport is a great way to unite people.
Schmitz, together with FieldTurf which donated the artificial turf, was committed to participate and decided to donate the ProPlay shock pads for the project.
Softball field donated to youth camp in Tennessee (USA)
The Synthetic Turf Council (STC), the world’s largest organisation dedicated to representing the synthetic turf industry, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to donate a new synthetic turf softball field to the Andrew Jackson Police Youth Camp.
Being a long term STC member, Schmitz provided the ProPlay shock- and drainage pad for the pitch. Aerial footage of the project can be seen here.
The summer camp program, located in Wilson County, Tennessee, helps underprivileged children develop team-building skills and break down cultural barriers.
Dan Bond, president and chief executive officer of the Synthetic Turf Council (STC) said:
We are proud that this multi-purpose field will provide thousands of hours of enjoyment for underprivileged youth in the Nashville area.
The STC and its members are fully committed to community wellness and environmental responsibility through the use of synthetic turf.
