The Sports Grounds Safety Authority (SGSA) is recruiting to fill a vacancy arising from the retirement of one of its Inspectors. The SGSA is a government-funded body tasked specifically with providing advice and guidance on spectator safety at sports grounds in the UK and overseas.
SGSA notes: The Inspectors’ role involves frequent discussions with Local Authorities, clubs and other interested parties, and visits to sports grounds on both event and non-event days. They advise, assist and influence clubs and Local Authorities on a wide range of ground and spectator safety issues. Inspectors also monitor how Local Authorities are discharging their safety certification responsibilities in relation to 94 football grounds in England and Wales.
