The Sports Ground Safety Authority (SGSA) is hosting a number of free workshops designed for all sports, especially those with whom the SGSA does not have a statutory function. The workshops will be interactive and suitable for governing bodies, venue owners and operators as well as Local Authorities.
These free of charge half day workshops will be delivered during the months of June and July in easy to reach locations around the UK:
13 June Aston Villa FC, Villa Park, Birmingham. 13.00 – 16.00
17 June Emergency Planning College, Easingwold, York. 13.00 – 16.00
19 June Lee Valley White Water Centre,(limited to 18 places), Waltham Cross, Herts. 13.00 – 16.00
1 July Ascot Racecourse, Berkshire. 13.00- 16.00
5 July Cardiff Arms Park, Wales. 10.00 – 13:00
17 July Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Nottingham. 13.00 – 16.00

At the workshops we will explain our role in respect of providing advice to sports grounds and national governing bodies, give information about our guidance and provide excellent opportunities to network and share experiences with others.
The topics covered at the workshops will include:
- An introduction to Spectator Safety
- The role of the SGSA
- Working in Safety Advisory Groups
- Venue Operation manuals
- Safety certification
A certificate will be issued for delegates to use for their CPD. The SGSA advises that spaces are limited and suggests early booking.
