Tim Hassett has been appointed General Manager, CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Regional Vice President, AEG Facilities. Starting 8 July, he will be responsible for the management of all of the arena’s business operations, the creation of new events and the development of new revenue opportunities for CONSOL Energy Center, the three-year old venue which serves as the home of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

In collaboration with the Penguins, Hassett will activate AEG initiatives including AEG S.A.F.E., AEG 1Source, AEG 1EARTH, AEG 1Force, AEG Encore, AEG Energy Services, in addition to working closely with AEG Global Partnerships and other divisions of the company.

Hassett said:

I’m excited for the opportunity to work with the staff at CONSOL Energy Center and the AEG Facilities team. I look forward to contributing to the expansion of the diverse event offerings we will bring to Pittsburgh and being part of their wonderful community.

Prior to joining AEG Facilities and CONSOL Energy Center, Hassett worked in facility management and operations at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc., The Madison Square Garden Company (Madison Square Garden & Radio City Music Hall), New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority (Giants Stadium & Continental Airlines Arena) and the New York Yankees.

John Langford is the new Director, Concerts, Events & Ticketing at the Hydro Arena and SECC Glasgow. Langford said:

It’s a privilege to be joining the SECC team at this time. The City of Glasgow, the SECC complex and of course the iconic and soon to be completed Hydro present so many exciting opportunities in the live entertainment and event space. I am looking forward to the manner in which the skyline and the face of events in the city are about to change”.

Langford was previously Chief Operating Officer of Big Concerts, listed as South Africa’s top international concert promoter. John Sharkey, Chief Executive, SECC said:

John brings particular expertise in the areas in which we perform and has a proven international track record of building successful relationships in the concert and ticketing business. He will play a major part in our commitment to make The Hydro a top five world arena and we are delighted John has agreed to join us at such an exciting time.
