Request for Tender (RFT): Stadium Big Screens – Croke Park Stadium

 

Páirc an Chrócaigh Teo (PCT) is currently inviting Stadium Screen Suppliers to submit tenders for the replacement of their existing 2x HD LED video displays. The replacement big screens need to support cutting-edge technology such as Ross Technology at Croke Park Stadium.

 

The new screens should also be able to support the following key requirements:

  1. Live broadcast
  2. Scoring
  3. Animated graphics
  4. Infotainment
  5. Emergency messaging
  6. Advertising displays
  7. Statistics displays
  8. Fan engagement

 

Tender Timelines

Physical replacement of the screens should commence post the 2014 season (October 2014), with the install to be completed ahead of the 2015 season (February 2015).

Client Background

The GAA is Ireland’s leading sporting and cultural organisation with membership approaching one million people and more than 500,000 playing participants at all levels. Inspired and supported by the voluntary efforts of its members, the GAA is focused on the development and promotion of Gaelic Games and culture nationally and in local communities. Croke Park has been at the heart of Irish sporting life for over one hundred years. Boasting a capacity for 82,300 people, the stadium is the home of Gaelic Games and the headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) and covers 15 hectares. Croke Park is a multi-functional facility responsible for hosting GAA (Hurling & Gaelic Football) games and in previous year’s international rugby and soccer matches. In addition, the Stadium also hosts concerts throughout the year, as well as conferences, exhibitions and entertainment events. Last year the stadium saw over 2 million patrons entering through the turnstiles. 2014 will see 37 fixtures take place at the Stadium including GAA games, 8 concerts and 1 Collegiate American football game.

Randy Green

Randy Green is the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Lighthouse Technologies, the long-time supplier of LED screens to stadiums and arenas worldwide.

Green joined Lighthouse in 2007 and has been in the screens business for more than 25 years. He has over 15 years of experience providing technical solutions for sports stadiums, arenas, and exhibition centres of which large screen video display, video control systems and electronic signage are an integral part.
