AFL Architects have been appointed by Shanghai Kehua Football Training & Development Co. Ltd to design and develop a new Academy and Training Facility.
The Academy aims to play its part in the development of football in Southern China and Shanghai in particular. It will incorporate facilities comparable with those available in Western Europe, providing academy-type training and medical facilities for all ages of students.
The facility will also include the latest in pitch technology and a mini stadium (initial capacity 5,000), as well as community facilities aimed at increasing the local population’s participation in the sport.
The project is aimed to start on site with the first installation of the playing surfaces during the Spring of 2016.
Phil Osborne, Director, AFL Architects, said:
We are delighted to be developing our partnership with Kehua in Shanghai and we look forward to participating fully in the development of football and the facilities required during this exciting time of increasing enthusiasm for the sport in the region.
