Signature facilitates stadium-venue concerts in UK & Europe

Signature Systems Group’s Europe division has successfully completed the facilitation of ten stadium-venue concerts in June 2014.

The concerts, performed by world renowned artists such as Elton John, Indochine, Kings of Leon, One Direction, Rod Stewart, The Rolling Stones and performers at the North East Live Festival, were presented at various stadia across the UK and at the Stade de France in Paris (pictured above).

Tony Booth of Signature Europe said:

Stadia personnel recognise that concerts are one possibility for filling 35,000 to 60,000-seat venues in between football and rugby matches. Yet, stadia were not designed to facilitate these events. Imagine taking a stadium built for athletics and turning it into a place where people and vehicles can travel safely over the expensive turf without injuring a blade of grass.

The public never sees the monumental effort it takes to ready a venue for a performance. The timelines for assembly and break down are always tight, challenging and often depends on the other commodity suppliers’ on-site schedules. On average, it takes between eight and twelve hours to set up the temporary flooring and after the event, it must be disassembled and packed away, thus precise attention to detail and painstaking coordination is key.

Signature Europe is also in the fourth year of supplying modular flooring systems for organisations such as The All England Lawn Tennis Club and The Royal Horticultural Society.

Booth added:

We provided over two million square feet of modular roadways and turf protection at over 25 venues for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympics in London. These flooring products protected the expensive turf, the natural beauty of each venue, and most importantly, the spectators and athletes.

People: Leadership torch passed at Signature Systems Group

Seth Gordon is taking on the role of President and COO of Signature Systems Group, beginning 4 November. Arnon Rosan (pictured), who founded Signature in 1998, is stepping aside into a new role at a start-up tech company. Rosan built Signature’s product line, manufacturing capabilities and distribution to become one of the world’s leading manufacturers and providers of modular flooring systems, access solutions and temporary fencing. Rosan said:

In the time that I have been privileged to lead Signature I have watched it grow from $0 in sales and two employees (including myself) to nearly $100 million in sales and over 125 employees, with customers on every continent. It has been an exciting ride, one that I know Seth Gordon and the rest of the team will continue. I am honoured to have had the opportunity to work with such an incredible group of employees and talented management team, and to have a chance to build something truly special with the team. As an entrepreneur, I felt it was time to transition into a new start-up.

Seth Gordon was hired in 2008 as Signature’s Director of Business Development and promoted to Senior Vice President of Strategy in 2012. In his five year journey to Signature’s helm, Gordon played a key role in expanding Signature’s reach to new industries, including energy exploration, sports surfaces, exhibitions and experiential marketing. He was also integral to establishing Signature’s European headquarters in the United Kingdom and winning the bid for Signature’s largest project to date, supplying more than 2,000,000ft² of temporary flooring and roadways to the 2012 London Olympics. Gordon said:

It has been a true privilege to work under Arnon for five years, learning about the industry from a dynamic pioneer, and growing and thriving with the company in the entrepreneurial family culture that he has fostered at Signature. I am honoured and humbled by the opportunity to continue what he started and to take Signature to the next level.
