An absolute highlight of the latest FSB (November 2013 in Cologne) and making an impact in the whole industry is the new SMG TurfMuncher TM2000D. This highly efficient machine revolutionises the disposal and treatment of artificial turf, which was previously a rather problematic and labour-consuming exercise.
The self-propelled TurfMuncher TM2000D is designed for the removal of artificial turf on compact rolls of two-metres in width and separation of the infill. Powered by a water-cooled 4 cylinder Kubota diesel engine with 44 HP all functions are controlled electro-hydraulically. The control of the machine is performed comfortably on a swivelling control panel.
Weight, surface pressure and the steering of the machine are designed for use on sensitive substructures such as elastic layers. The discharge height of the conveyor belt of 2.4 metres facilitates the transport of the filling material by shovel loaders or dumpers or the filling of bulk bags. The conveyor belt also swivels 180 degrees and thus allows working in the edges of areas. An optional sensor-unit ensures a straight run. With a maximum operating speed of 7m/min and a material discharge of up to 500 kg/min, the dismantling of a standard artificial turf pitch takes just 14 hours, if appropriate material logistics is provided.
