Construction starts on Belarus national stadium

Work has started on a new national football stadium for Belarus in the country’s capital city, Minsk.

The stadium is being designed and built by a consortium of China IPPR International Engineering and its affiliated Jingxing International Engineering Management Co.

The project will see a 33,000-seat professional football stadium constructed. The venue will be able to host events including European Championships, the World Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and the European Super Cup.

The building area covers 48,000m2.

The venue has been designed according to the highest standards of the corresponding size stadiums of UEFA and when completed it will become a world-class professional football stadium.

The stadium is expected to be completed by October 2023 and cost around $180 million to build.
