A new sports complex is taking shape on the site of the old Ystrad Mynach hospital in Caerphilly, Wales. It will include all-weather rugby and football pitches and a pair of 500-seater stands along with a gym, changing rooms and conference facilities. Caerphilly County Borough Council has awarded the £4.8m constuction contract to Northern Ireland’s Heron Bros.
We applaud Caerphilly Council’s proactive initiative in creating this facility which will greatly enhance the development of elite sports men and women in the area, which will be of great benefit to the local community, the Dragons region, and to Wales,
said WRU Head of Rugby Joe Lydon on the occasion of the project start.
