Extended time-lapse video of Avaya Stadium from construction to Opening Day

EarthCam and the San Jose Earthquakes teamed up to bring fans the ultimate experience, through EarthCam’s time-lapse video of stadium construction and the first game.

The San Jose Earthquakes welcomed fans to their new home with a 2-1 victory over Chicago Fire. EarthCam’s extended time-lapse video includes the construction of Avaya Stadium and opening day festivities.

Avaya Stadium is the first cloud-enabled venue in professional sports. This new 18,000-seat, Major League Soccer stadium emphasises the fan experience by creating an intimate atmosphere that brings spectators close to the action, physically and technologically.

Designed by HOK, the European-style stadium features covered seating that holds in the sound and creates an energetic atmosphere for fans. Every aspect of the open-air stadium is tailored to the MLS experience, offering fans exceptional sightlines to the field from every angle.

Avaya technology is powering new ways for fans to connect to the game, including a mobile application and a fan engagement wall. Additionally, the Quakes are working closely with Avaya Labs to bring new technology into the stadium. “The partnership with Avaya will create a very tech-forward, innovative experience for fans that will be the envy of stadiums from across the world,” said Earthquakes President Dave Kaval.
