The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority (MSFA) has hinted that it will choose its construction manager for the new Vikings stadium in the next few days. It has cut its short list to two: Mortenson Construction and Hunt Construction in partnership with Minneapolis-based Kraus-Anderson Construction Company. Skanska AB is no longer in the running.
The MSFA has also approved a plan that calls for one-fifth of construction contracts to go to Minnesota-based businesses that are women and minority owned. Groundbreaking for the stadium could be as early as October and the Vikings hope to begin playing in the stadium by the 2016 season.
