New football stadium plans for Costa Rica – video

Costa Rican football champions Liga Deportiva Alajuelense have unveiled plans for a new stadium, which they hope will be ready for action in January 2025.

The new 24,000 seater venue will be built in Turrúcares de Alajuela, on Route 27 next to the club’s High Performance Center in the Central American country.

The cost of the new stadium is estimated to be $30 million and it will be built on a 9-hectare piece of land. Watch a video here.

The club said that before moving forward with the project even further, it must be voted on and approved by the ‘red and black’ partners on May 8 in an assembly.

After approval. Design completion and all construction permits will be from July 2021 to December 2022.

Construction would begin in January 2023 and end in December 2024 for a duration of two years. Later the inauguration would be in January 2025.

The club currently play home gaes at the Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in the El Llano neighbourhood of Alajuela.
