Red Bull becomes Tampere Deck Arena partner

Red Bull has agreed a deal to become the official energy drink partner of Tampere Deck Arena in Finland.

The cooperation agreement covers not only the sale of energy drinks but also collaboration in marketing activities.

Under the agreement, Red Bull drinks will be sold at all of the arena’s outlets, and the agreement will cover all events held at the arena.

The arena’s utilisation rate will be high right from its opening, as the two Tampere hockey teams, Ilves and Tappara, will play their home games there from the 2021–2022 season. The arena will also be the main venue for the 2022 Ice Hockey World Championships.

Red Bull’s country manager, Petteri Parta, said:

The agreement with Tampere Deck Arena is important to us. Our investment in local ice hockey kicked off last year with the Red Bull Läpimurto concept, and with this arena collaboration we will be more involved in the actual game events.

Tampere Deck Arena will also be a venue for a wide range of international cultural and musical events and experiences with a variety of artists.

The Tampere Deck and Arena project connects the eastern and western parts of Tampere. The area will form a new hybrid block that combines living, working and the largest sports and event arena in Finland with capacity for approximately 13,000-15,000 visitors.

During the first phase, the southern railway yard will be covered with a deck, where an arena, practice rink, hotel and two tower blocks are being built, while the northern deck and three tower blocks will be built during the second phase. It is estimated that up to a thousand homes will be built in the area.

The new Tampere Deck Arena is owned by a consortium consisting of the City of Tampere, SRV, and the project’s investors, OP and LähiTapiola.
