Absen has announced the appointment of Thomas Peterfaj as the company’s new Senior Director Sports for the European market.

This newly created role will see Peterfaj based in Absen’s European Headquarters in Rüsselsheim, Germany. He will be responsible for supporting the brand’s growing presence in the sports industry, and successfully promote its digital signage and perimeter pitch solutions dedicated to stadia and arenas.

Peterfaj can count on a decade of experience in the sports industry. Before joining Absen, Thomas was the Director of Marketing Operations at SPORTFIVE GmbH, specialising in project planning and coordination in Europe for LED perimeter boards. Prior to that role, he worked as a Project Manager for German company APA, a European leader in the production of advertising for the sports industry.

Peterfaj commented:

I am very excited to take on this role and I look forward to helping Absen in strengthening its presence in the sports industry.

Absen has an ambitious strategy for this market, and knowing the quality of the products, I am confident it has the means to achieve its objectives.

With Euro 2016 just around the corner, Absen is setting the right foundations to reach the goal of becoming the undisputed leader in display solutions for the stadium industry.

Absen already benefits from an excellent reputation in the sports market, with a second to none price to quality ratio, as Peterfaj outlined:

I’ve been involved with a number of manufacturers over the years, but none of them gave me an impression of always wanting to do better with the future in mind, like Absen does. The high profile venues where Absen products can be found speak for themselves.

To further develop its presence in this market, Absen can count on existing installations in leading European football stadiums, including Germany, Italy, Portugal and France. In the first and second division of Bundesliga alone, Absen’s flagship A97 LED perimeter displays can be found in an impressive 13 stadiums.

Absen’s Managing Director, Ruben Rengel, said:

Thomas is a great hire for Absen and having him on board will help us to further improve our existing product range and in the development of future solutions. We want to set standards in this industry and be seen as a proactive company, creating the products that the industry needs.
