Tottenham Hotspur stadium – a bird’s eye view

White Hart Lane is no more and Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium is rising from the ground as these stunning new aerial pictures show.

Work has now begun on all corners of the ground, with the South Stand also now in the construction phase.

Set to open in 2018, London’s largest capacity football club ground will feature a retractable grass field for Tottenham Hotspur home fixtures with an artificial surface underneath that will be multi-use and capable of hosting NFL matches, concerts and other high-profile events.

With a capacity of more than 61,000, the club has placed the fan experience and stadium atmosphere at the heart of its designs in collaboration with stadium architects, Populous.

The 17,000 single tier South Stand, the largest in the UK, will generate ‘a wall of sound’ coupled with a tight atmospheric bowl ensuring spectators are closer to the pitch than at any other comparable ground in the UK with uninterrupted views for all at every event.

The aim is to recreate the ‘wall of sound’ experience that fans enjoy at Borussia Dortmund’s ground in Germany.

For the stadium to transform into NFL mode, the football pitch will slide out underneath the South Stand to reveal an NFL field underneath.

The club is continuing to search for a naming rights partner for the new stadium. To view more pictures click here.
